The Industrial Revolution did make the world a better place. Even though the Industrial Revolution brought some bad things there was plenty of positive things as well. Without the bad things that happened none of the good things would of happened because we wouldn't of learned from out mistakes.
One of the negative effect is the working conditions. The factories were dirty and dangerous. They didn't have any laws for the minimum pay or safety issues. The workers were paid low salaries that could barely cover their costs of living. Another negative effect of the Industrial Revolution was child labor. They were also given very low pay and worked in very bad conditions. They girls would have long hair that would get caught in the machines and possibly kill them.
There were also many positives such as modern buildings. The buildings were positive because they gave homeless people places to live. Also they were built within walking distance of a factory. Another positive was modern inventions. There were many new inventions that bettered people lives. The telephone was invented which allowed people to communicate with each other. The inventions increased the factory efficiency and productivity by making work easier.
There are plenty of good and bad things that the Industrial Revolution brought, but did this make the world a better place? From the bad things we have learnt that its not good to force people to work long hours and pay them nothing. We have also learnt that employing children is not a good idea. But from all the positives we have continued to build on them, for example now we have mobile phones which are cordless and we can text, call, send and receive emails and even play games. We also have better transport which allows us to travel places more efficiently. So from all of these points it is clearly evident that the Industrial Revolution made the world a better place.
